Reviews about Musselman Jewelers
- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆January 30, 2019, by Ashleigh ColominaLet me preface this by saying, I never write reviews, this is my first review to date I have ever written. I have had great experiences, and terrible and never written a review, but this is the cream of the crop and people need to know the atrocity of this so called "jeweler". Everything started out quite well from every perspective (I am writing from my husband's point of view). He was able to find what seemed to be a beautiful double halo ring because of the help from one of the sales reps. They even set up an extremely helpful payment plan so that he would be able to afford the ring! What more could we ask for from a jeweler?! As the story goes, we moved to Lancaster county, 10 months into wearing the ring, I lost my first diamond so we drove to the shop and personally handed the ring to the tech to have fixed. They obliged happily and we went back home. Upon arrival of the ring in the post, we received a sticky note that stated, "please use common sense, the jeweler said you abused your ring". I don't know if it is just me, but this is not the way to talk to a customer! Especially when my profession at the time was a nanny to an infant and a 2 year old, which requires very little physical work. So, we brushed that aside and we were just happy to have the ring back and we were confident we would not have to deal with the company again since losing a diamond so quickly seemed to be a fluke. 5 months later, I lost another diamond in the same exact hole! So, we took it in a second time; only to be told by the sales rep that I should not wear the ring when I clean, do dishes, take a shower, or go to bed because the ring could not handle this type of "abuse" and once again stated that we were not treating the ring properly. I have never heard such a statement in my life. I know many women who go years and years never taking their rings off, never losing a diamond. This struck me as very odd, but once again we were committed to just getting the ring back. As life went on for another 6 months, I lost yet another diamond!!! The third one in less than 2 years!!! At this point, my husband and I were a little fed up since we spent a fair amount of money on the ring and expected much more. My husband and I decided to finally suck it up after walking around with a diamond missing for a few months and pay for a service from the most reputable jeweler in Lancaster county, Brent Miller Jewelers. When we arrived, we had the jeweler look at the ring. TO OUR SURPRISE, we were told that our ring was actually an antique and was once an earring converted into a ring, this is why the diamonds kept falling out, because it was not made to withstand what a ring can. To think, my husband spent all that money, on what he assumed was a new ring, BECAUSE THE SALES REP STATED IT WAS NEW, only to find out we wasted a lot of money! We were then told it was impossible to restructure the ring. From here we were lost on what to do. We parted ways with our fixed ring. 1 week after getting our ring back from Brent Miller, we lost another diamond! Then, 6 months later I lost yet another diamond! At this point I am walking around with 2 diamonds missing from a ring less than 3 years old! So I decided to call the original sales rep from Musselman's to discuss this terrible case we were having; only to be told on the phone that Brent Miller is a liar, that their assessment of the ring is false, there is no way that he could have sold an antique let alone an earring converted to a ring! The conversation continued on with frequent statements that I don't use common sense and its my fault that I had lost so many diamonds in such a short amount of time. At this point, I was furious with the disrespect and lack of service I had just received in such a terrible phone conversation! I am committed to never dealing with Musselman Jewelers ever again. We now have to pay for a new setting from a new jeweler! My recommendation is to never step foot in this jeweler! There years of service do not merit sales by any means!
